its funny how history repeats itself...

in my quest to find my SLR camera (i still didnt find it), i ended up in my attic...there are bags upon bags of my mom's clothes from like the 80s and 90s in there. and i found some treasures that i wouldnt mind rocking nowadays...its amazing how history repeats itself...

long time no write, i know. life is hectic.

i joined one of the school's papers, and im going through the motions with creating a magazine of my own. and of course school work is kicking my ass, and yadda yadda yadda. trying to maintain focus, but yenno...its hard out here for a pimp. lol.

had my computer on shuffle, and this came on...

MYA

"Tears on My Pillow"

Ooh
Now it's official
You're out of my life
Too many tears I've cried
I'm leaving the moments
Behind on the shelf
Believing in you
Was hard for myself

All your apologies
Outside the door
I can't waste my time on you anymore
I've fallen much deeper than this before

[Chorus]
There's no tears on my pillow
No room for crying
No tears on my pillow
I left them behind
And I found me a better place
Somewhere inside
And I know I won't cry these tears any more

Can't say I'm selfish
I trust in my heart
I know what I want
And it tears you apart
Don't worry about me
Thinking of you
My days are filled
With too much to do

The whole world is waiting
For me to explore
I can't waste my time on you anymore
I've fallen much deeper than this before

[Chorus]

No regrets, no sadness
You're not the first and you're not the last man
Somehow you had me trapped in your web
But it won't be raining
When I hang my head down, oh

No tears on my pillow
I left them behind
And I found me a better place
Somewhere inside
And I know I won't cry these tears
Won't cry these tears anymore, ooh
Tears on my pillow, ooh
No more tears on my pillow, oh

so i downloaded a new media player today and it sorted all my media files. i found some videos i didnt even know i had until today. there's no sound to them, but you don't need to hear it to understand whats going on. i miss you guys

ok so i dont even want to address the JABILLION things wrong with this video. i wont laugh, because its not funny. i will admit though, when i first saw it i laughed. only because of how ridiculously foolish and unbelievable it is...but just think about all the people that will see this and not take it for joke.

now, i have recently had lots of questions asked of me. kel, what do you think of hip hop in the media today? kel, how would you feel if i dated a white girl? kel, what do you think about the state of our Black community...

i have an opinion on all of these things. but its just way too much to type. just know that We are skating on thin ice right now. We are becoming a minstrel show. the things that we portray now  are those very same things whites portrayed during Blackface performances. We need to get our minds right man. I could go on and on, but just know...we need to get right. as far as interracial dating, do you. as long as you care about that person its all good. yes, those of your race may have qualms with your dealings, but remember...its your dealings at the end of the day. not theirs. just be careful of what you try to come off as. dont raise your fist with your dashiki on and scream fuck the man...trust me, im not against interracial relationships. at all. its not that serious.

as far as the media goes, step it up. there is the vicious cycle of "is the media a reflection of our culture? or is the culture a portrayal of the media?" i wont even go into it, being an intern for a hip-hop website. but know that there is a vicious cycle going on. i dont know how it can be stopped, but something has seriously got to give.

i could go on and on about this, but i have studying to do lol. i just felt compelled to write about this in my blog because these issues have been coming at me left and right lately.

and im out!
